"BLUE BEETLE squares off against GREEN LANTERN KYLE RAYNER and THE NEW GUARDIANS!• If Beetle and the Lanterns don't kill each other, the bounty hunter packing Oan technology will be happy to do it for them. Wait…OAN technology?!• Continued this month in GREEN LANTERN: NEW GUARDIANS #9!"
Why is Jaime fighting Kyle and not Guy? :((( (Don't try any giant green fists, Kyle. Mama Reyes is watching!)
Also, I forgot to set up a discussion post for JLI #9 (sorry!) so feel free to have at that one in the comments too! |

I haven't really been following the show very closely, but now I'm going to have to watch it.
So, thoughts? Comments? Incoherent squealing?
I will admit, when he flew on screen I yelled, "MY BABY!" Good times! |

"Blue Beetle: Runaway! Following the tragic events of BLUE BEETLE #6 and 7, Beetle has abandoned his friends, family and home, setting out on a path that brings him to New York City. As Beetle struggles with the curse of the scarab that is the source of his powers, a loathsome threat emerges – a predator who stalks runaway children. Just when he thought his life couldn't get any worse…well, welcome to New York, Blue Beetle!"

| question about Booster's relationship history |
[Apr. 12th, 2012|09:21 am] |
I haven't read Booster's original series, so by all means correct me if I'm wrong, but Booster doens't seem to have ever had a serious romantic relationship. He seems to trend more towards flings, business relationships and/or sexual friendships. Future mobsters throwing beautiful women at baby college football star Booster as a perq for service is a business relationship. Women appearing with him at functions and publicity shoots as a civilian love interest or sidekick are business relationships and possibly flings or sexual friendships. His marriage to Gladys was a sexual friendship and possibly a business relationship. His relationship with Max's ex-wife Claire as they did the Conglomerate thing was a business relationship and friendship which may or may not have had a sexual dimension.
(...And given Max's focus on Booster in that last JLI story before the DCU rebooted, that's an interestingly awful triangle right there and if Claire is still alive... *ponders*)
Anyway, am I wrong? Am I right? Any thoughts? |

| Hello, I bring (unbeta'd) fic |
[Apr. 4th, 2012|09:05 pm] |
This is more or less a thought experiment combining A Brave New World and Booster Gold's home time period. I want to explore this further, but I don't know if my muses will cooperate.
Title: Attention Span Storyline: A Brave New DC Future (1/1) (probably) Disclaimer: DC owns its universes' futures, and . Aldous Huxley, or his estate, own A Brave New World. Warnings: A psychiatrist who is actually quite good at her job. Summary: What if, in the future, hundreds of years after the Age of Heroes, the world was designed differently? A psychiatrist talks to a particularly stubborn young patient about why his mother is dying. ( clicky ) |

"The plan was for the JLI was to be installed as Earth's official protective team. But once Breakdown attacked, that all came to a swift and sudden end. Now, as the pall of death and injury hang over the team, all that matters is survival. Featuring the introduction of a surprise new team member!"
Well, this sounds like a feel-good story! Confession: I dropped this book after reading the last issue. Someone let me know when they stop hospitalizing all the women. (How, how, HOW did Bea and Tora get injured by FLAMES???)
OT: Looney Tunes and Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? look awfully out of place in the land of scribbly lines and gradients that is DC's new website. |
